About Miss Donna

Professional Experience

Miss Donna brings over 30 years of experience teaching swim lessons across Colorado, Texas, California, Florida, and Washington. She is honored to now return home to Southern California to continue serving families through life-saving swim instruction and water safety education.

She is an Infant Aquatics® Certified Professional Survival Swim Instructor and a Swim Angelfish® Certified Instructor, specializing in children who learn differently. Her training also includes lifeguarding (including deep water), CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.

Miss Donna has extensive experience working with children and adults with special needs, including individuals with autism, anxiety, sensory sensitivities, and motor challenges.

                           ® Philosophy

Miss Donna is part of a network of dedicated Infant Aquatics® professionals who share a passion for water safety and swimming. She is committed to teaching life-saving survival skills that help children build confidence in the water and enjoy it more safely.

Her approach combines proven teaching methods, child development principles, and extensive specialized training to create safe, effective, and confidence-building lessons. Infant Aquatics instructors complete extensive in-water training along with education in child development and behavior support to help meet each child’s unique needs.

Core teaching values:

  • Helping children stay safe and confident in and around water

  • Building a lifelong love of swimming

  • Creating engaging, effective, and transformational lessons

  • Fostering meaningful relationships with students and families

Seeing children grow in confidence and joy in the water is one of Miss Donna's greatest reward.

Background & Personal Life

Miss Donna grew up in Southern California, surrounded by water and aquatic sports, and swam competitively through Junior College.

She is a proud mom of five and a grandmother who enjoys an active outdoor lifestyle with her family — including kayaking, paddleboarding, jet skiing, and swimming. At home, she enjoys spending time with her goldendoodles, Finn and Daisy.

A Message to Families

At Swim Shine Aquatics, my intention is to gently guide each child beyond water safety into calm confidence, lasting skills, and a lifelong ease in the water.

It is an honor to welcome your family and share this meaningful gift.
